FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Find quick answers about our handmade press-on nails, sizing, application, wear, processing times, care, and more.

Are SOFT NAIL STUDIO press-on nails handmade?

Yes. Our press-on nail sets are handcrafted with attention to details such as color, cat-eye effects, glitter, charms, and decorative elements. Because each set is finished by hand, very slight variations in color placement, patterns, shimmer, or decoration may occur from set to set. These small differences are a natural part of handmade work and make each set a little more unique.

How do I choose the right nail size?

For the best fit, measure the widest part of each natural nail in millimeters and compare your measurements with our sizing chart before ordering. Visit our Press-On Nail Size Guide for step-by-step measuring instructions.

What sizes and shapes are available?

Available options vary by design. Many sets are offered in XS, S, and M, while selected styles may also include L. Depending on the product, you may also see different shapes or lengths such as Short Oval, Medium Oval, Slim Oval, Almond, Coffin, Square, or Stiletto. Please check the options shown on each product page before ordering.

What if I’m between two sizes?

If your measurement falls between two sizes, we generally recommend choosing the slightly larger option. A press-on nail that is slightly larger can usually be gently filed along the sides for a more customized fit. For help measuring, see our Size Guide.

How do I apply my press-on nails?

Start with clean, completely dry natural nails. Gently push back your cuticles, lightly buff the nail surface, remove oil and moisture, and choose the correct size for each finger. Apply your preferred nail glue or adhesive tabs, align the press-on close to the cuticle, and press firmly into place. For the full step-by-step process, visit our How to Apply & Remove Press-On Nails guide.

Should I use nail glue or adhesive tabs?

It depends on how you plan to wear your nails. Adhesive tabs are convenient for shorter wear and are generally easier to remove, which can also make reuse easier. Nail glue usually provides a stronger hold and is better suited for longer wear. Actual wear time varies depending on nail preparation, application method, daily activities, and individual nail condition.

Can the press-on nails be reused?

Many of our handmade press-on nail sets can be reused when they are applied, removed, and stored carefully. After removal, gently clean adhesive residue from the underside of the nails and keep them in a clean, dry place until your next wear. Avoid bending, pulling, or forcefully peeling them off, especially on designs with handmade 3D decorations or charms.

How do I remove press-on nails safely?

Do not forcefully pull or peel them off. Soak your nails in warm soapy water and allow the adhesive to soften. You can apply a small amount of cuticle oil around the edges and gently loosen the press-ons once they begin to release. If they still feel firmly attached, soak a little longer rather than forcing them. See our How to Apply & Remove guide for detailed instructions.

How long does it take to prepare my order?

Ready-to-Ship Items: Orders are generally processed within 5–7 business days before shipping.

Pre-Order / Made-to-Order Items: Please allow approximately 8–15 business days for production before shipping.

Many of our designs include hand-applied finishes or decorative details, so preparation can take longer than mass-produced finished nail sets. Shipping or transit time begins after your order has been processed and dispatched.

Will my handmade nails look exactly like the photos?

We aim to keep every set as close as possible to the product photos and original design. However, because the nails are handcrafted, small differences may naturally occur in glitter distribution, cat-eye patterns, charm placement, hand-applied details, or the way colors appear under different lighting. These slight variations are normal for handmade products.

How should I care for decorated or 3D press-on nails?

For designs featuring rhinestones, bows, butterflies, pearls, metallic decorations, or other 3D details, we recommend a little extra care. Avoid using your nails as tools, excessive bending, and unnecessary exposure to harsh chemicals. Gentle wear, removal, and storage help preserve the handcrafted details and improve the chance of reusing the set.

Can I get my press-on nails wet?

Normal daily hand washing is generally fine once the nails are securely applied. For better adhesion, avoid prolonged water exposure immediately after application. Frequent soaking, very hot water, swimming, or extended water exposure may shorten wear time depending on the adhesive used.

How can I make my press-on nails last longer?

Good preparation makes a big difference. Make sure your natural nails are clean and dry, remove surface oils, choose the correct size, keep adhesive away from the surrounding skin, and press each nail firmly during application. Avoid water immediately after applying your nails. You can find the full preparation process in our application guide.
